Gift Guide: Day of Wedding
Anna at her brother, Will, & sister-in-law, Laura's, Wedding. 2016.
Day-of wedding gifts are a tradition that stem from the time of dowry's, but in modern times, it is about giving your partner something special that represents excitement, love, and gratitude for one another before you tie the knot. I think it is a great excuse to gift your loved one something unexpected that they can one, wear or use on your wedding day, and two, will cherish for the rest of their lives. Here's a list of my favorite day of wedding gifts...
For the Bride:
Classic Earrings: perhaps her earrings can be the something blue you provide on the wedding day! I always err on the side of blue sapphires or diamonds for day-of earrings.
Cushion cut sapphire earrings with white diamond halo.
Compact Mirror: keep her looking flawless through the smiles and the tears on this special day.
Mother of Pearl Pocket Mirror. Engravable on back.
Necklace: Finalize her look with a classic bezel set diamond necklace. Just the right amount of sparkle to add to her wedding day ensemble without distracting.
Available in multiple combinations of gold, diamond size & shape.
Bracelet: When in doubt, a tennis bracelet is always a good idea. These bracelets were named tennis bracelets after Chris Evert, a women's tennis player, had a diamond bracelet fall off her during a US Open match in the late 70s.
Available in a variety of gold colors as well as diamond size & shape.
Pierced Roman Numeral Cigar Band: a great substitute for her engagement ring, the band is personalized with a date of your choosing (might I recommend the wedding date?).
Available in 14k white, rose, or yellow gold.
For the Groom:
Watch: make sure he's on time for the ceremony with a posh watch!
Certified Preowned Rolex 18k Yellow Gold Men Day-Date President Watch
Collar Stays: engrave them with either his initials or your wedding date.
Cufflinks: ideal for a formal wedding, cufflinks are that nice added touch to a sharp look, plus metaphorically represent tying the knot.
"Tying the Knot" Cufflinks, 14k White Gold.
Tie Bar: the matrimonial equivalent of "hold my beer" - this tie bar will hold back his tie so he can dance his heart away at the reception.
Flask: engrave it with something cheeky and fill it up with his favorite booze to ease any day of jitters.
Stainless steel, 8oz flask.
